Jesus Is All You Need

July 28, 2024

To effectively change our lives, it is necessary to create a new one.

In order to control the things in our life, God has to be a park of our life.

Hebrews 4:14–16
14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are — yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

1. Jesus is the we profess.

Matthew 8:5–8, 13
5 When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. 6 “Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.” 7 Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?” 8 The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that moment.
James 2:17
In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

A statement of faith is great, but a of faith is better.

Hebrews 4:14
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God…
Hebrews 13:5–6
5 “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6 So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”
Hebrews 4:15
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are — yet he did not sin.

2. Jesus made us .

Ephesians 2:1–2
1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world.
Ephesians 2:4–5
4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions — it is by grace you have been saved.
Ephesians 2:8–10
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Sin is not an ; it is a of our heart. We sin because we are sinners.

3. Jesus us to the Father.

Hebrews 4:16
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

God is not just an to our day but my priority.

How Do We Live As Though Jesus Is All We Need?

1. in the presence of the Lord.

Matthew 11:28–30
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

To is to trust that what God has done is enough.

2. on towards Jesus.

Philippians 3:12–14
12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

The of following Jesus is Jesus!

3. known the hope of glory.

Colossians 1:27
To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Jesus is ALL you need.
