God created music and the musicians! Burnt Hickory Music in West Cobb exists to teach and grow musicians of all ages and skill levels. Our students aren’t just learning how to play an instrument—they’re discovering how to use their talents to glorify God and inspire others through the beauty of music.
Learning an instrument is more than just mastering notes and technique. It builds discipline, perseverance, and creativity—skills that extend far beyond the classroom. At Burnt Hickory Music, we cultivate these qualities along with gratitude and confidence as our students develop their gifts for a greater purpose.
Whether you're a beginner picking up an instrument for the first time, an intermediate musician looking to refine your technique, or an advanced student striving for excellence, our private lessons are designed to meet you where you are and help you grow.
Private Music Lessons Near Acworth, Kennesaw, Marietta & Dallas!
We offer one-on-one in-person music lessons for the following:
- Piano Lessons – Perfect for students ages 5 and up, the piano provides a strong foundation in music theory and serves as a gateway to other instruments.
- Guitar Lessons – Whether bass, acoustic, or electric, our guitar lessons are best for students 10 years old and up. For younger students, we recommend starting with the ukulele as a stepping stone to the guitar.
- Ukulele Lessons – A fun and accessible instrument for students ages 6 and up, ukulele lessons teach essential music concepts that transition easily to guitar.
- Violin Lessons – A versatile and expressive instrument, violin lessons develop fine motor skills and musicality. Open to students of all ages and skill levels.
- Cello Lessons – With its rich, deep tones, the cello is a beautiful instrument to learn. Currently, Burnt Hickory Music offers cello lessons only for beginners.
LESSON Format & Scheduling
Burnt Hickory Music operates on a semester-based enrollment to ensure students receive consistent instruction and steady progression.
- Each lesson lasts 30 minutes and occurs once per week for 17 weeks per semester.
- By signing up, students commit to attending both the fall and spring semesters.
Upcoming Semesters:
- Summer 2025 Session: June 2nd – July 18th (Registration opens February 23rd)
- Fall 2025 Semester: August 4th – December 13th (Registration opens April 1st for returning students, June 1st for new students)
- Spring 2026 Semester: January 5th – May 15th
All lessons are private, providing individualized instruction that allows students to learn at their own pace with professional, experienced instructors.

TUITION PAYMENTS
While we are a church ministry, Burnt Hickory Music operates solely on the funds generated by tuition and fees, which are used to provide the best instructors, equipment, and supplies.
Monthly tuition is $100 for all private music lessons except string instruments (please contact the Music Manager for this information). There is a yearly registration fee as well.
