Silent Auction Rules
- Please check in at the registration kiosk.
- All sales are final - no refunds or exchanges. Auctioned items are sold on an "as is" basis.
- All winning bids must be paid in full the night of the auction. Winning bids may be paid for at the Check-Out table after 6:30 pm.
- Payments may be made by cash, checks (made payable to BHBC), or credit/debit or through the BHBC App.
- Items may be picked up in the front lobby after payment has been made.
- All purchased items must be removed from the premises the day of the auction.
- Please note special stipulations on any services or gift certificates, such as expiration dates, etc.
- Burnt Hickory Baptist Church makes no representation of any kind, either expressed or implied, regarding any property sold at the auction.
- Burnt Hickory Baptist Church assumes no liability for any personal injury or property damage suffered because of any usage of the purchases.
- Quid Pro Quo disclosure: Items donated to the auction may have tax deductible value. Gifts made in excess of $250 require substantiation of the value. It is the responsibility of the donor to substantiate their gift.
- Items purchased at the auction may be tax deductible only to the extent the purchase price exceeds the fair market value of the items purchased. Dinner certificates are not deductible items. Letters from Burnt Hickory Baptist Church to acknowledge donations of items will only be given by written request.
- Values set forth on items are the donor's estimates and not warranted by Burnt Hickory Baptist Church for tax purposes or for general sale.
- The Silent Auction will be open for bidding at 4:30 PM and will close at 6:00 PM. No bids will be accepted after designated closing time.
- Each numbered item has an adjacent corresponding bid sheet. Place an even dollar amount and your bid number on the bid sheet. Please note there are minimum starting bids and minimum increments on selected items.
- Please print legibly. A bid will be disqualified if it is illegible or does not meet the minimum raise requirement. The auction chair will determine the winning bidder for each item. It is the responsibility of the winners to claim items by 8:00 PM. If unclaimed, items will be awarded to the next highest bidder.
- Winning bid numbers will be shown on the center screen as soon as they are available. Bidders may then proceed to the checkout.
Live Auction Rules
(Begins at 7:00 pm or at emcee’s discretion.)
- The auction will be by LIVE BIDDING.
- To enter a bid, RAISE YOUR PADDLE (paddles are in the center of the table).
- BHBC reserves the RIGHT TO WITHDRAW any article at any time before the actual sale.
- If the auctioneer determines that any opening bid is not sufficient, he may withdraw the item from the sale.
- The successful bidder will be presented with a BID CONFIRMATION form by an auction assistant. This form must be signed by the successful bidder or the item will be released for further bidding.
- Items may be paid for at the checkout table in the front lobby. Forms of payment are check, cash, credit/debit, or payment on the app.
- Limited storage requires all purchased items to be claimed and paid for on the night of the auction.
- BHBC specifically disclaims any liability or responsibility in connection with goods or services offered and/or purchased at auction.
- Auction items are not transferable.
- Live items may be picked up after payment in the front lobby.
